Role Overview:

Gladiator’s Geotechnical Assistants play a key role in helping develop the Whitehorse Copper Project. As a Geotechnical Assistant, you will be contributing to a collaborative technical team, with a focus on safely exploring and developing Gladiator’s Whitehorse Copper Project. 

The role comprises processing and collecting geotechnical data from drill core at a high standard and assisting core logging geologists with day-to-day tasks. With additional responsibilities including but not limited to keeping the core shack organized and providing general support.

Gladiator has a planned exploration budget in the vicinity of $15 million for 2026, with a focus on fostering a team first.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Technical Team, including but not limited to marking up and measuring drill core & collecting high quality data within a computerized environment
  • Preparation of samples, including quality assurance samples and analytical paperwork
  • Utilization of portable XRF (Training & Certification provided by Gladiator if required) & ReveNIR Handheld NIR Spectrometer
  • Loading and unloading drill core onto logging racks

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Competency in Numeracy
  • Physical fitness, able to jointly lift and load core trays onto racks for periods of time
  • A high level of attention to detail, and computer and digital data entry skills.
  • Some proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Eligibility to work in Canada
  • Experience within similar roles with at least 8 years of relevant experience, preferably across varying mineralized deposit types with a focus on base and precious metals, with technical proficiency in exploration geology and target generation
  • High proficiency in exploration practices and implementation
  • A proactive and responsible approach to safety and people management

Schedule & Commencement:

Gladiator plans to commence operations from mid-April through to December, with strong emphasis on drilling 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. In order to support operations, Gladiator plans to offer a rotational based roster with the exact schedule or roster to be determined.

Gladiator normally operates a 7am to 5pm workday (7 days per week) with production-based team members rostered on a monthly schedule (approximately 20 days on 10 days off), though we are interested in hearing from potential employees who are able to either Job Share or are available for limited hours (half days – minimum 5 hours) or able to work 5 to 6 days per week.

The position is based at our core processing facility located near Porter Creek.
